In January 2019 St Patrick's Junior & Senior School were awarded a School of Excellence grant to implement a music programme in the two schools. The money awarded will be used to provide an instrumental music lesson to every child each week. The project, which is called "Music Making Matters", was launched in May 2019 with our "Big Sing" which was a huge success. Over 800 primary and secondary school pupils, parents and local musicians took part in the event. Instrumental lessons are due to commence in both schools from October 2019. Early Start and Infant classes with participate in pre-instrumental Percussion and Song-Singing lessons. 1st and 2nd class will be learning Violin, 3rd class will learn Keyboard, 4th & 5th class will learn the Ukulele and 6th class will be taking part in Samba Drumming lessons. We are very excited about giving every pupil the opportunity to try out new instruments and get involved in musical performances throughout the year.
