Junior Gaelic Football Match Report

27/9/2017

St. Patrick’s S.N.S.   6-6      East Lucan  E.T. 4-4
A great crowd showed up to cheer us on for our first home game of the season. Ajii quickly opened the scoring with a well taken goal into the top corner of the net. However, East Lucan was an excellent side throughout and deservedly took the lead with some very accurate shooting.

Our boys stood up to the challenge and Jake McCormack kicked an amazing point from way out the field. Cian Everard, our goalkeeper, again made some crucial finger tipping saves to deny Lucan on several occasions. More goals were to come with Jake McCormack, Brady O’Brien and Aaron Creighton scoring once each. Khaleed finished the match as our top scorer with two goals and a point. In the closing minutes
of the game, Ben and Aaron Creighton added a point while Ajii kicked a
two fine efforts to keep our winning streak going!

Well done to everyone involved! St. Patrick’s Abú!

St. Patrick’s S.N.S.   7-3      Adamstown E.T. 2-1
After an excellent pre- season of hard training, St. Patrick’s Junior team came into this match raring to go. Motivation was high and the pitch was in perfect condition.

Ajii quickly opened the scoring with a well taken goal into the bottom corner of the net. Khaled added the second goal of the game, winning the ball out in front of the full back and slotting it into the net.
The goals didn’t stop there. Khaled coolly blasted the ball to the roof of the net. Cian, our goalkeeper, made some crucial finger tipping saves to deny Adamstown on several occasions. Special mention must be made to Diarmuid O’Brien. His bravery and determination to defend was a leading example for others.  More goals were to come. Khaled scoring his third with Ajii also adding his second of the day. Again, goals were the theme of the day and Brady got himself on the scoresheet with two fine efforts.

Well done to everyone involved! St. Patrick’s Abú!

Senior Gaelic Football Match Report

22/9/2017

St. Patrick’s S.N.S.   4-2      St. Mary’s Saggart 0-2

After an opening round  narrow defeat in the previous fixture, St. Patrick’s Senior Team came into this match determined to come out on top.

Corduff got off to a great start with a well taken goal from Jamie Sloan who taped in from close range. Not being outdone, others came to the fore. Noah took a 45 that dropped into the net. Jake Mc Cormack delivered a great ball in to Benji who was lively in the corner and scored a real goal poacher’s goal. One of the moments of the game came towards the end of the first half. Our boys have been working hard on their skills and this proved it. St Mary’s cleared their defence with a high ball. Jaures came out of the clouds to catch the ball. However he wasn’t finished yet! He then drove forward and kicked a monster score.

A special mention must be made for Aji who was a constant thorn in the opposition’s side. He scored a fine point in the second half. The goals didn’t stop there. Daire added a fourth goal midway through the second half. With some great performances from David, Jonas, Sean and co Corduff closed out the game.

Senior  Boys Gaelic Team

St. Patrick's S.N.S. 3-4                   Sruleen N.S. 3-8

Our Senior Boys Gaelic team had a narrow loss away to Sruleen N.S. Clondalkin on Thursday last. Our boys got off to a great start with quick fire scores from Aji with two well taken points. Lee Meehan then go in on the action with a thunderous strike to hit the back of the net. Jamie Sloan, with coolness personified, scored two frees from a tight angle. We went into half time with a three point lead.

Sruleen then came roaring into the second half and took the lead. Our boys battled hard and showed great spirit with goals from Leo Cash and another fine strike by Benji. However it was not our day and we lost on a scoreline of 3-8 to 3-4.

Special mention must be made to our star man, our goalkeeper, Alex who made a dramatic penalty save in the first half followed by a few more in the second. Well done to all involved. Some great performances and we can only get better.

The whole school was present in Dalymount Park to cheer on our footballing heroes. There were 64 teams in the competition altogether but none were able to compete with the level of skill and determination shown by St. Patrick's in this Senior Boys Cup competition. The boys have won every match they have played in 2017 & joint captains, Darragh Keane & Sean Matando lifted the trophy for the first time in the school's history. Special thanks to Mr. O'Hara and Mr. Cunningham who have been training the team all year. A special word of thanks also to parents and other supporters who travelled to Dalymout to show their support. Well done St. Patrick's!

Climate Change Video

5/5/2017

Recently  the students in Ms. Mongan's language classes have been learning all about the causes and effects of Climate Change. They learned how our use of electricity and cars have been having a huge impact on the environment and about ways in which we can help. They had an idea of making a video to share what they learned and to create awareness about these issues so that more and more people can work together for a better, fairer world.

Following the creation of a fabulous Christmas tree from re-used plastic bottles by Ms. Kelly's 3rd Class, Glanmore Foods invited all the 3rd Classes to their factory for a tour and fun activities. Glanmore Foods were very interested to hear that RTÉ had paid a visit to our school to film the children discussing how they had re-used so many bottles in the run up  to Christmas. The children had a great day as they toured the factory!
