St. Patrick’s S.N.S.        23 points                                                         Lucan East N.S. 22 points

A great crowd showed up to cheer us on for our second home game of the season. Conditions were tough and our boys had to play against a near gale force wind in the first half. However, they worked tirelessly, never gave up and thanks to some excellent saves by our goalkeeper Oisín O’Donovan we went in at half time down by 9 points.

Staying positive throughout, every player kept pushing forward and the scores started coming. Using his blistering pace, Gerard Aver kicked a monster point from way out. Going on a fine solo run, Aaron Creighton added another fine point off his right. Not being outdone, Charlie Ferns picked up the ball and with very little room to manoeuvre, he stroked the ball over the bar for a point. However, goals were needed at this stage if we had any chance of winning. Aaron Creighton knew this and blasted a fine goal to the roof of the net. Thierno Balde became a bigger influence on the game and he popped the ball over the bar to leave a point between the teams going into the last few seconds. Giving up was not an option and a free was won in the last second to give us one final chance. Up stepped Aaron Creighton to kick the ball over the bar to win the game by a point.

Well done to everyone involved! St. Patrick’s Abú!
