What a WOW day marking National Walk on Wednesday!! We had 136 children who walked to school and 14 who parked and strode. Congratulations to all-hopefully our efforts will contribute to the national goal of 20,000 children walking to school on 15th May 2019! We had such fun with our walking races and our distance competition. See results below.
The children picked a mindful focus while walking and everyone who participated enjoyed a hot chocolate afterwards.
Please make an effort to travel to school in a more green way especially on Wednesdays-walk, cycle, scoot, bus, car pool or park and stride! We will all reap the benefits.
Over the next two years, we will be working towards our travel flag in the Green-Schools programme. The ultimate aim of the theme is to increase the number of students walking, cycling, scooting, using public transport or carpooling on the way to school, for various beneficial reasons.
Did you know? Ireland’s greenhouse gas emissions per person are amongst the highest on the planet!
Well done and thank you to everyone involved in making the igloo. All made from recycled milk cartons. A great achievement.
